Led Zeppelin’s “Celebration Day” a Celebration For All

Led Zeppelin, one of my favorite bands, and definitely the most definitive rock band of all time, will be releasing their 2007 live from London reunion concert in theaters this month. If you miss it in theaters (which you may, since it’s only at select locations), you can still definitely pick up a copy of the collector’s edition boxed sets that will be accompanying the big screen debut of the film. This humongous milestone in rock and roll history is not to be missed, as it was Led Zeppelin’s first reunion show in upwards of thirty years, and also probably the last concert they’ll ever play together (unfortunately). Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant may all be 60+ years old, but they have yet to crack in any aspect. They tore through a set covering their entire span as the heaviest band of all time, with Plant’s bluesy soul filled vocals and harmonica, howling and twirling over Jimmy Page’s heavy riffing and soloing to perfection, all finished off by John Paul Jones and his groovy bassline, keyboards, and Jason Bonham, the late great John Bonham’s son, filling in on drums to almost mirror what his father would have done. This performance cannot be matched by any artist that I’ve ever known, seen, heard, or sensed in other way. For fans of rock music, and more specifically for fans of Led Zeppelin: This performance is to be celebrated. It damn sure deserves the title it’s been given, and we know it was truly a “Celebration Day.”

Argo’s Production of Grease 2012

If you didn’t attend the 2012 musical for Argo High School, you missed out. Grease is the word. Yup, Grease was this years musical performance and boy was it a memory to remember. For being a high school remake it was really well performed and worth the see. With 80+ students that dedicated their time to make the show a success, it really paid off. The first night, was an almost sold out performance for the actors. A job well done indeed, more info on it to come. Interviews, Cast listing, ect. Stay tuned. -WARG DJ/Public Relations Chris

Thom Yorke’s New Album

Thom Yorke, the singer-guitarist of Radiohead, in September, finished his solo-project band’s, Atoms for Peace, debut album titled AMOK. The nine-song record will be released early next year on XL. Yorke has recently released “Default ” one of the tracks, as a digital-single teaser. Yorke was on break from live shows with Radiohead when he was joined by two members of Atoms of Peace: drummer Joey Waronker and Radiohead co-producer Nigel Godrich. Missing bassist Flea, from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and the band’s touring percussionist Mauro Refosco, with his hair pulled back in a tight but unruly ponytail, and his sandy-blond beard, Yorke finished the album. The group, formed by Yorke to play live the songs from his solo album, The Eraser, was so good in rehearsal that Yorke arranged for three days of studio recording in Los Angeles.Godrich says, “is something that hasn’t been done before, because of its origins. It was sort of a backward idea – and a step into the unknown.”
